Terms of Service

Effective date: April 26, 2026

These terms cover Monte accounts, dashboard usage, CLI/API access, persona creation, and the temporary processing model for raw uploads.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Monte, including the website, dashboard, CLI, API, future MCP surfaces, and related services.

By using Monte, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Monte creates and serves persona-backed personalization for AI tools. Users can create a persona, request task-aware context, generate API keys, and connect Monte to supported workflows.

Monte is not a permanent storage product for raw uploads. Raw source material is processed temporarily to create or update a persona, then deleted from active product systems as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Accounts and authentication

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, sessions, API keys, and devices.

You must provide accurate account information and must not share API keys with unauthorized people or systems.

We may suspend or restrict access if we believe an account, API key, or integration is compromised, abusive, unlawful, or creating operational risk.

4. User content and upload processing

You may provide files, exports, notes, prompts, or other content to Monte for persona creation and personalization.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant Monte a limited right to process the content solely to provide, secure, debug, and improve the requested service workflow.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload or submit content to Monte.

Monte’s product commitment is that raw uploaded source material is temporary processing input. The retained output is the derived persona and operational records needed to run the service.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use Monte to violate law, infringe rights, compromise security, abuse infrastructure, reverse engineer the service, scrape or exfiltrate data, interfere with other users, or generate harmful activity through connected tools.

You may not upload malware, secrets you are not authorized to use, data you are prohibited from processing, or content that would require Monte to meet regulatory obligations we have not expressly agreed to support.

You may not bypass usage limits, metering, billing, rate limits, authentication, or access controls.

6. AI outputs and responsibility

Monte provides personalization context and related outputs for AI workflows. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular use.

You are responsible for reviewing outputs and deciding how to use them. Monte does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

7. API keys, CLI, and integrations

Monte API keys are bearer credentials. Anyone with a valid key may be able to use the associated account or persona within the key’s scope.

You are responsible for storing keys securely, rotating them when needed, and revoking keys that are no longer trusted.

Third-party integrations may be subject to their own terms and privacy practices. Monte is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

8. Billing and usage

Monte may charge based on credits, subscription plans, API usage, compute, storage, or other metered usage described in the product or order flow.

You are responsible for fees incurred by your account and API keys. Paid features, refunds, trials, and plan limits may be described separately in the checkout or billing interface.

9. Availability and changes

Monte is evolving. We may modify, add, suspend, or discontinue features as we improve the product, maintain security, or respond to operational needs.

We try to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will remain available forever.

10. Intellectual property

Monte and its software, design, brand, documentation, and service technology are owned by Monte or its licensors.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of Monte technology. You may use the service only as permitted by these Terms and applicable product documentation.

11. Termination

You may stop using Monte at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, or if continued access would be unlawful.

After termination, provisions that by their nature should survive will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and payment obligations.

12. Disclaimers

Monte is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monte will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monte’s aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Monte for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 USD if you have not paid Monte.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
